Recall of select oranges, lemons and other products
I don’t think I like this new normal of food recalls starting up again.
Oranges, Lemons, Limes, Potatoes and Listeria monocytogenes
There is a risk of Listeria monocytogenes in various bagged lemons and oranges and other products. Additionally products that may contain lemon juice from those lemons are also being recalled.
Eek.
This is a recall because routine internal testing showed that Listeria monocytogenes was present in the facility where these lemons, limes, oranges, and potatoes were processed.
There have been no illnesses reported!
More details at the two recall notices: From the supplier and one is from Wegmans and there are sure to be others.
Update on Onion Recall
In addition to the recall from Thomson International Inc., the most recent FDA recall notice mentions secondary recalls of products which contain the recalled onions. Giant Eagle, Taylor Farms, and Spokane Produce have recalled products containing recalled onions and USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has published a list of Ready-to-Eat Meat and Poultry Products Containing Recalled Onions.
