Under the Affordable Care Act, chain restaurants are required to provide certain nutritional information on both in-house and online restaurants. The Center for Science in the Public Interest, Consumer Reports and the American Heart Association with three other consumer advocacy and health organizations say that “[...]covered restaurant chains and third-party ordering platforms are failing to supply this important information to consumers, blunting its public health impact.”
This is particularly important as most delivery food sales are through a third party app.
The concerned organizations asked the FDA for clarification so that nutritional information shall be provided on the menus lists on delivery apps.
