Due to allergies and rhinitis a few years ago, I lost my sense of smell. I remember that the scariest thing about this was that I couldn’t tell if the food was fresh or not. At that point I realized how much I depended on my sense of smell as part of my safety. Fortunately this passed and I remember the delight when I could taste again - even hotel scrambled eggs were delicious.
You probably know by now that one of the side-effects of COVID-19 is the loss of smell and taste. Can you imagine?!
