Food Sustainability Factors
Sustainable food should also be healthy? Image from Pixabay
Last week I discussed the idea of food having a food sustainability index or factor just like it has a protein content. In doing more research, I found Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition (BCFN) has put together a country based index on food and sustainability. This is based on food waste, sustainable agriculture and nutrition. No country comes out on top on all three as France is best on food waste, Austria is best in sustainable agriculture and Japan is best for nutrition.
Do you think this index is a meaningful metric and will it be used by countries to improve their FS index?
