Food Safety and Equity

Food safety training shouldn’t be an equity issue. However, recent research from National Sustainable Ag Coalition (NSAC) found that getting funding to train socially disadvantaged farmers, processors and wholesalers is not sufficiently reaching the institutions that support these groups. NSAC found that ten percent of institutions funded were those that support minority groups and that most of the funding went to traditional 1862 Land Grant Universities.
