People are allergic to food. I don’t drink beer or other alcoholic beverages. You can read why in one of my most popular articles on my LabCat blog. Even alcohol in mouthwash makes me sneeze!
The FDA lists eight major allergens; wheat, milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts (by species), fish (by species), and crustacean shellfish (by species). We must be cautious because,, like me, people are allergic to other food ingredients. I knew someone who was allergic to kiwi seeds and another friend is allergic to apples and related fruit.
There is no cure for food allergies. I am never going to be able to drink beer again. The only way someone with food allergies can be sure they won’t suffer a severe allergic response is by strictly avoiding allergens. Additionally, early recognition and management of allergic reactions to food—are important measures to prevent serious health consequences.
