Since we seem to be back to having regular food recalls it is worth checking to see what is being recalled currently. In the last month we’ve had the Salmonella-Onion recalls and the Salmonella-Peach recalls. Shortly before that we had Cyclospora-Bagged Salad recalls, which is actually still on-going. Hopefully no one still has any of the recalled products at home.
Many recalls are due to mislabelling because an allergen hasn’t been declared, so if you are unfortunate enough to have a food allergy, you might want to check those out.

Just checking the FDA recall page and I noticed that another food business, Russ Davis Wholesale, are recalling fresh peach salsa and fruit baskets due to the Salmonella-peach recall. The food system is so interconnected.
If you are processing or distributing food, you must have a recall plan. This is the only way to make sure that you know what to do without panicking if one of your ingredients or products is recalled. Please reach out for a food safety chat if you haven’t got one yet!
